The ASA webinar series brings high quality ultrasound education anytime, anywhere. Each webinar is between 30–60 minutes and provides educational and practical information from industry experts across a range of subspecialties.
CPD points are allocated at the conclusion of a webinar viewing, and range in value from 0.5–1 point depending on video duration.
The ASA educational video series take webinars to the next level. These in-depth videos run between 60–90 minutes and incorporate:
- Live scanning techniques, including patient positioning and equipment
- Tips to improve diagnostic outcomes
- Normal anatomy and anatomical variants
- Pathological findings, including ultrasound characteristics.

Online Learning Modules (COMING SOON)
The ASA’s newest educational activities see the introduction to Online Learning Modules (OLM). Asa OLM are an interactive, engaging form of learning featuring a variety of educational material to aid the learner in their education. Each asa OLM features mini-activities and readings to complete at your own time. Activities vary depending on the topic and may include:
- Video recordings
- Journal articles
- Images and diagrams
- Image interpretation
- Case reviews
These online learning tools are a new educational opportunity that provide a unique and interactive platform that engages the user far more than passive watching of presentations. With the provision of short courses, members are encouraged to start and stop at the leisure with the ability to pick up where you left off and complete the modules in your own time.
Following the publication of the ASA Sonography journal, one feature article has a corresponding CPD test to help cement the readers learning. These tests consist of a series of multiple-choice questions regarding the content of the associated article.
At the successful completion of the test you will be awarded a certificate and 1 CPD credit.
At major events, including the Annual International ASA Conference, select presentations are recorded and made available to ASA Members. Free access is available to members that attended the event. Access is available to members that did not attend the event, at a cost.
To safeguard the health of members, all events are temporarily suspended due to COVID-19. The ASA is assessing the situation regularly and will begin face-to-face activities by jurisdiction as soon as possible.
Organised by your local branch committee, these high quality CPD events are held Saturday mornings and comprise of live scanning and demonstrations and offer a great opportunity for local networking.

ASA Virtual Conference
Due to the ever-evolving COVID-19 situation in 2020, the ASA will hold their first ever virtual conference ASA2020 Virtual, from 17–18 October 2020.
The ASA's international conference. The largest sonographer CPD event in Australasia. The next face-to-face conference will be ASA2021 Brisbane, 28–30 May 2021.
