Feedback invited | Draft National Allied Health Workforce Strategy

The Australian government is currently seeking feedback on its draft National Allied Health Workforce Strategy. This document sets out five key national priorities and associated actions relevant across the wider allied health workforce to ensure it is sufficient and meet the needs of diverse Australian communities.

If you wish to provide feedback to support the ASA’s response to the government, please do so via email to policy@sonographers.org using the subject line ‘National Allied Health Workforce Strategy’.

Feedback sought includes:

  • Is there anything missing in the introduction that could help explain the rationale for the strategy? (p 6-10)

  • Do you agree with the vision statement? (p 9)

  • Do you agree with the three policy contexts highlighted, i.e. reforms to regulation, future workforce capabilities, and cross-sectoral policy alignment? (p 11-13)

  • Do you agree with the five priorities and actions, (p 14-34) i.e.,

    • Enhance the impact of allied health professions.

    • Improve national allied health workforce data and planning.

    • Build a sustainable allied health workforce.

    • Grow, support and retain the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander allied health workforce.

    • Grow, support and retain the rural and remote allied health workforce.

  • Do you believe the five priorities and actions cover the key national workforce issues?
