DR VANESSA

Dr Vanessa Atienza-Hipolito FRANZCR is a highly accomplished Clinical Breast and Interventional Radiologist and solopreneur based in Cottesloe, Western Australia. With over 23 years of experience in Radiology, she is a qualified and fellowship-trained subspecialist in Breast and Musculoskeletal Imaging, Interventional and Vascular Radiology, and Paediatric Radiology. She is the Clinical Director and Business Owner of Women’s & Breast Imaging (WBI), a specialized imaging centre for women's and breast imaging, where she delivers high-quality care to her patients.

Dr Vanessa is also a passionate educator and Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer at Curtin University, The University of Western Australia, and Edith Cowan University. She has a wealth of experience in teaching, mentoring, and supervising radiology trainees and medical students in her area of expertise. Dr Vanessa has co-authored four book anthologies, including Courage and Confidence: What It Really Takes To Succeed in Business, Global Girls - Find Your Thing, The Power To Rise Above, and Women Leading the Way, demonstrating her commitment to sharing her knowledge and experience with others.

Dr Vanessa Atienza-Hipolito FRANZCR is also involved in supervising and training sonographers, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care to patients. She is committed to upskilling student sonographers and has been actively involved in their training, mentoring, and supervision. Her dedication to education has helped to improve the quality of care provided by sonographers, ensuring that patients receive the best possible outcomes. Dr Vanessa's involvement in training and mentoring the next generation of sonographers demonstrates her commitment to advancing the field of radiology and improving patient outcomes.

In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Dr Vanessa has received numerous awards, including the Millennial Achiever Award presented by the Filipino Australian Club of Perth (2019), the People’s Choice Gold Award for the ‘Making A Difference (Local Community)’ category presented by AusMumpreneur (2021), and the People’s Choice Silver Award for the ‘Health and Well-being’ category presented by AusMumpreneur (2021). She was also named Breast Radiologist of the Year presented by the Radiology Awards (2022). In April 2023, Dr Vanessa won global awards, including Women changing the world - Women in Medicine category (Silver) and Women changing the world People's choice awards - Health and Well-being category (Bronze), and was a finalist for the Australian Small Business Champion Awards Doctors' Surgery category.

Dr Vanessa is a dedicated and compassionate physician who strives to improve the health and wellbeing of her patients. She is an accomplished academic and a respected leader in her field, whose contributions have been recognized both locally and internationally.
