Expressions of interest are invited from ASAR accredited Sonographers to work in the beautiful Southwest of Western Australia. We are currently a team of five experienced contractor sonographers but sadly one is leaving to pursue further studies. So, we are looking for an experienced sonographer (5+ years post graduate) to join us.
General Sonographer - Contractor
Description
You will need to be NT accredited and be able to perform a wide variety of examinations, including MSK, obstetric, and Vascular . Our team provide a full range of sonography examinations under contract at WA Country Health Services District Hospitals in Collie, Bridgetown and Manjimup.
You would travel to each site in your own vehicle with travel time and travel kms included in your daily rate. If you were based in Bunbury (on the coast and 2 hours drive south of Perth) then your day would be: At all sites 8am to 4pm with 30 minute lunch break; Bunbury to Collie 45 minutes drive each way so leave home 7.15am, home around 4.45pm; Bunbury to Bridgetown 1 hour drive each way so leave home 7am, home around 5pm; Bunbury to Manjimup 1 hour 20 mins drive ach way so leave home 6.40am, home around 5.20pm.
You will drive through beautiful agricultural land and forests – no more annoying traffic jams! The sites have a single Radiographer on site and no Radiologist – reporting by Teleradiology using Comrad for the RIS and Inteleviewer for the pacs. No onsite interventional work. The staff at all sites are awesome to work with, I have been visiting these sites for 30 years and wouldn’t work anywhere else.
Equipment is all between 6 months and 2 years old GE E10 units with full range of probes. We use Trophon HLD units. Remuneration is a very attractive daily rate of: Collie $1137 per day (+GST if applicable) plus superannuation guarantee at ATO current rate of 11.5% = $130.76 Bridgetown $1178.98 per day (+GST if applicable) plus superannuation guarantee at ATO current rate of 11.5% = $135.58 Manjimup $1283.25 per day (+GST if applicable) plus superannuation guarantee at ATO current rate of 11.5% = $147.57
You will need to have an ABN as a company or be a sole trader. Workdays are flexible, with 2 days a week guaranteed and more days available for leave cover and extra days for waitlist reductions - subject to negotiation. With currently 5 contractors there is a lot of leave cover opportunity!
30 minute appointment slots (60 minutes for 20 week anatomy scans). There are multiple hospitals and practices nearby in Bunbury, Busselton and Vasse who are also seeking staff should you wish to supplement your working days. You will be working as part of a team supporting local GPs, examining outpatients, inpatients and Emergency dept patients. A high level of professional initiative and clinical confidence will be required.
